Our Approach to Privacy
TruthTeller treats letters, cases, and responses as private user content. However, the app does not provide absolute confidentiality, professional privilege, therapy confidentiality, attorney-client privilege, or medical confidentiality. TruthTeller is not a therapy, legal, medical, or financial service.
Information We Collect
When you use the app, we may process account information, email address, login provider, user ID, display alias, letters/cases you submit, responses, TruthCoins balance, purchase records, refund records, notification device tokens, device/language preferences, app settings, and technical logs.
Content You Submit
Stories, events, people, evidence, and context you submit may be processed to provide responses, operate the service, maintain safety, prevent abuse, and improve quality. We recommend that you do not submit real names, addresses, phone numbers, identity documents, bank details, health information, passwords, or sensitive third-party information.
Human Review and Responses
TruthTeller responses are not an automated therapy, medical, legal, or financial decision system. Content may be viewed or reviewed by a human to create responses, maintain quality, provide safety, or handle support.
Promotional and Editorial Use
Some stories, themes, or situations submitted to TruthTeller may be considered interesting, educational, or representative. Such content may be used for promotional, marketing, social media, product, educational, or editorial purposes after identifying details are removed, changed, shortened, edited into screenshot-style examples, excerpted, transformed, or anonymized. Users should not submit information they do not want to be used in a non-identifying example. TruthTeller does not sell personal data, but non-identifying or anonymized examples may be used to promote or explain the service.
Purchases and TruthCoins
Purchases are processed through the Apple App Store. TruthTeller processes purchase status, product IDs, transaction evidence, coin ledger activity, refund/revocation information, and account balance. If Apple refunds a purchase, related TruthCoins may be automatically reversed. Purchase and ledger records may be retained in anonymized form after account deletion for accounting, refunds, fraud prevention, and App Store reconciliation.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, your device notification token may be processed to send alerts when a response is ready, TruthCoins are added, or important app updates occur. You can disable notifications in iOS Settings.
Face ID and Device Settings
Face ID authentication is handled by iOS LocalAuthentication. TruthTeller does not receive or store your biometric data. Language, theme, music, notification, and similar preferences may be stored on your device or associated with your account.
Service Providers
To operate the service, we may use hosting, database, authentication, payment verification, notification, debugging, security, and analytics providers. This may include providers such as Supabase, Apple/App Store, APNs, and other technical service providers used by the app.
Account Deletion and Retention
You can delete your account from within the app. When your account is deleted, personal profile information is deleted or anonymized. However, minimum records required for purchases, refunds, ledgers, security, fraud prevention, accounting, legal obligations, and App Store reconciliation may be retained in anonymized or de-identified form.
Security
We use reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. For that reason, you should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information.
Your Controls
You can delete your account, manage notifications, disable local access preferences such as Face ID, and change available settings from within the app.
Children
TruthTeller is not directed to children. You must meet the applicable digital service and App Store age requirements in your country to use the app.
Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes may be communicated through the app or other appropriate means.
